Each spring, thousands of colorful songbirds stop to rest on the north shore of Lake Erie during their northbound migration. Bird watchers from all over the world gather in the park to witness this grand phenomenon along one of the most important migration highways in North America.
Travel to the North Shore of Lake Erie for a two night avi-tourism package that will put you right in the middle of the action at two of the best birding locations on the continent, Point Pelee National Park and Rondeau Provincial Park..
Day One: Arrive at an indoor tropical paradise, stroll through a series of interconnected greenhouses to admire the wide variety of cacti and greenery. Then it is on to a world famous refuge for waterfowl where you can hand-feed ducks and geese. After a visit to one of Canada’s newest Mediterranean style wineries it is on to dinner and your hotel.
Day Two - begins with a birder’s breakfast at Canada’s second oldest Provincial Park nestled deep in the heart of Carolinian Canada. After a box lunch on the park grounds it is on to the wetland vegetation at the St. Clair National Wildlife Area.
Day Three –After breakfast you will head off to Point Pelee National Park. This park is a thin triangle jutting into Lake Erie at the southernmost point of Canada. After your tour with a professional naturalist, you will enjoy a parting lunch at a historic inn overlooking the waters of Lake Erie.
