Pelee Island Getaway
Located at the most southern point in all of Canada, the Township of Pelee is composed of nine islands coated by nature. You will be able to take the day to experience what Pelee Island has to offer on our overnight Pelee Island Getaway!
After a tour of Walkerville, you will participate in a demonstration at Walkers Candies and Fine Chocolates. Featuring 18 different types of hand-dipped truffles and chocolates utilizing traditional recipes from almost 90 years ago, this stop is sure to be a treat.
Next, we feature a tour and tasting at Pelee Island Winery, located on the mainland, it is not only one of the oldest wineries in Canada, but it is also the largest. Featuring fruit forward white, red, and Vinedresser Reserve wines. There will also be a wine appreciation seminar, as well as a barbecue lunch on the pavilion, and an exclusive dinner theatre hosted at the winery.
We will also be featuring a tour of Pelee Island itself, including its interpretive trails. Featuring 34 kilometers of bicycle trails and 5 kilometers of walking trails, it is one of the best ways to get involved with the natural heritage of Pelee Island.
This is an overnight tour, so accommodations are prepared for you. This includes rooms at the Hampton Inn in Windsor, with two continental breakfasts, ferry admission to Pelee Island, and baggage handling.

Daytrip – Spring/Summer/Fall
Your day on this island is an experience you will not soon forget. From the moment you step off the ferry and arrive on Pelee Island you know that you are experiencing a unique part of history. Pelee Island is home to about 300 permanent residents. Pelee Island is approximately 12 km north to south and is roughly 4 to 5 km east to west. Pelee is home to Lake Erie’s oldest stone lighthouse and Canada’s first estate winery with over a century of grape-growing tradition. Your first activity on this day is a professionally guided tour of the island. During the tour you will see the natural extensiveness of this special place. The next stop is the Pelee Island Winery Wine Pavilion where you take a tour, sample the product and than have a leisurely lunch after a short stroll through the Pelee Island Winery’s Red Cedar Savannah Nature Reserve. After your day in this exceptional place it is time to go back to the ferry for your journey back to the mainland and home.

Pelee Island is an island 1 ½ hours from the mainland. On all Pelee packages the possibility exists that, because of weather or mechanical considerations the ferry will not run to, or from, the island.
This package contains a lot of walking and moderate exercise. Only those with a reasonable level of fitness should be participating.
