Staff Bios

The staff at Ontario’s Fun Connection have over 30 years of combined group tour experience. They also have years of first hand experience at the OMCA, ABA and NTA marketplaces.

Doug Jackson

General Manager of the Georgian Lakelands and Festival Country (Niagara & Mid Western) Travel Associations in the Province of Ontario, Director of Marketing for the Wheels Inn, a 350-room hotel in Southwestern Ontario, the first Tourism Coordinator for the City of Chatham and an instructor in the Tourism and Hospitality Programme at a Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario. Doug also has experience in the airline industry in Ontario at several regional airports as well as Pearson International in Toronto and in the hotel industry in the Caribbean as well as the Pacific Rim.

Melva Detailleur

Born and raised in Chatham, Ontario, Melva is OFC’s Black History Tour Coordinator. A newcomer to the travel industry, she attended her first American Bus Association conference in 2013, and is “on fire” to share Ontario’s Black  History! An adoptive mother of 4, she has been a foster parent for 13 years and supports foster parent programs in her community. Melva enjoys running and likes to assist in marathon training. Melva is a direct descendant of “William Parker”, who was instrumental in the “Christiania Riots” in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

 

Alex Vandenbrand

Currently attending Grade 12 at Blenheim District High School, Alex brings his knowledge of the web and web media to OFC to help in their transition to the online world. Alex is in charge of all matters related to the OFC Website. Alex enjoys spending time with his friends and participating in the sport of 5-pin bowling, as both a coach and a player. He has won over 30 awards, including a memorial award for his perseverance, dedication, and being an inspiration in the sport.
